You can leave your friends behind
Or something.

I started this on Valentine's Day because I was in that kind of mood.
(I'll return to my usual silly/nicer stuff shortly!)

Very brave piece! I always hesitate to paint pictures where the main source of light is coming from the below since It's fairly difficult for me! Its awesome that you are already diving into it! Very nice atmosphere, slightly soothing with a bit of danger.

Now for the critique!

The light from below is pretty bright, reaching even white (Which is the brightest). Because how bright it is, there should be a bright rim lighting on her skirt, breasts(You've got a little bit on there already), and arms where you already have placed the blueish-green hue (which tells me you already know where the light will hit!). The blueish-green hue would stay, but with an added white rim light to anchor the figure into the painting.

As for the bounce light, the some areas on the figure should have a bounce light to separate it from the background. As a guideline, if there are any really bright light, there usually bounce light too.

I love the great warm color you've started to add, like the firefly type things, to draw attention from all the cold lights. I would push that a bit further, maybe add bit more warm colors to help balance it!

If you'd like I could do a quick paint-over of your piece to visualize what I've said, since I feel I may not be the best at explaining!
